Back

As soon as you arrive to the United States it is natural to have feelings of shock. Culture Shock is common in most overseas travelers and can last anywhere from one day to one week.

When you land in the United States, if you are traveling with a large group, you will be met at the gate by a representative of United Work and Travel or by your employer. (for groups of 20 or more) who will then put you on a bus and have you taken to a nearby site for your orientation.

Or if you are traveling alone or in a group smaller than 20 you will need to take a bus or a taxicab to your employers office or designated sign in location. If you arrive late in the evening, you should rest at a local motel or hostile until the next business morning.

Be sure to call home, eat a good meal, and get good nights sleep. Your first day will be a long one and most of you will be traveling immediately after orientation.
