When you first arrive in the United States, be sure to have the following documents readily available to you.
DS 2019 Form or H2B Visa Form-This document is issued by United Work and Travel (for J-1 Visa) or the US Embassy in your home country (for H2B Visa) as you official Sponsor in this country.
I 94 Card-This is the card that you will receive on the airplane. This is a U.S. government entry document.
Passport
Please make sure than when dealing with U.S. immigration that you cooperate fully and are very respectful of the officers.
The immigration officer will take your Visa forms and examine them; He/She will return the forms to you. Keep these forms in a safe place with your passport for the length of your stay in the United States.
This immigration officer will also stamp your I-94 card. (the part that is stapled to your passport) The top of this card will be kept by immigration as a record of your arrival. The part that is stapled to your passport will be taken from you when you depart the United States.
After gathering your bags from the baggage carousel, continue on the United States Customs desk.
All prescription drugs must be clearly marked.
No one under 21 years of age may bring alcohol into the country
You may not enter the country with perishable foods such as cheese or nuts.
If you are carrying more than $10,000 in U.S. dollars, you must inform a customs official.
BE VERY CAREFUL WITH ALL OF YOUR DOCUMENTS!!!
THEY ARE VERY DIFFICULT TO REPLACE.
